Sony VAIO VGC-JS290J
$1,300.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:Built-in card reader is very convenient - provides a leg-up on competitors including the Apple iMac. Blu-Ray drive runs very smoothly - plays back content at full-resolution with minimal jogging and operations noise. Screen is bright and sharp - provides excellent visual display for a non-HD monitor.
The Cons:Boot-up time is remarkably slow - users should be prepared to wait several minutes to launch Windows and 30-45 seconds for each individual application. Includes a large amount of pre-installed bloatware - significantly affects operation speeds and overall user experience. Sony Media Player application may cause interference with other media applications - doesn't allow users to save playlists or library contents in iTunes when running.
