Sony VAIO L117FX
$2,000.00
Released November, 2009
The Pros:Large 24" 1080p capable multitouch touchscreen display. HDMI input for use as a TV with external devices. Powerful - Intel Core 2 Quad (quad core processor), dedicated Nvidia graphics, large drive capacity, 6GB of RAM.
The Cons:Somewhat boxy looking - not as sleek as the iMac. No HDMI output. All-in-one design makes self-service, upgrading or reusing major components impossible.
The Sony VAIO L117FX is an all-in-one 24” multi-touch computer system featuring an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400S processor, 6GB of DDR2 SDRAM, and a 1TB SATA hard-disc drive. It comes pre-installed with the Windows 7 operating system and is fully touch-capable, although this feature isn’t necessarily too useful for users who employ the system as a traditional desktop.

Included are USB, Firewire, and Ethernet ports, not to mention a high-powered GeForce graphics card with 1GB of RAM. Signature to the L117FX is that it includes a built-in TV tuner for receiving digital TV and over-the-air HD signals (antenna required), as well as an independent HDMI input for connecting to a compatible HDMI-enabled device like a cable/satellite set-top box or PS3 gaming console.
